I have called 5 times this morning at 924am. Only to have the call abswered and hung up.
Leonie- the staff in the shop are all volenteers, maybe if you volunteered a few hours for this worthy charity you could answer the phone promptly
I’ve always found the staff helpful and courteous both in person and on the phine
Organised for Hospice Morrinsville staff to pick up quite a few furniture items from my dads house due to him now being in a resthome for palliative care. Hospice staff declined everything claiming ‘poor condition’ and not ‘sellable’. In my opinion I though that was a pretty poor attitude and my family were quite offended… Hospice- I understand that you may have certain regulations regarding the items you take, but you must also remember that Many families in NZ do not live with top notch- high quality furniture and (in my opinion) would have taken all of that furniture from my fathers house in a heart beat. When that fell through we instead went to Salvation Army store in Hamilton and they took all of it- puzzled as to why Hospice did not take even one item. I will not support any organization with that type of attitude regardless of what you are for. This does not represent all Hospice stores I am sure however the Morrinsville store had appauling manners and need to think about the families that would have benefited from the furniture they could have had.
I love hospice so friendly and welcoming always happy to go to the hospice op shop I find all sorts of peices as well as donating lots of stuff 🙂
