I phone the number provided and the phone is answered but they always hang up. Disappointing.
I left my jacket with a phone in the pocket in the changing room in Cambridge. On phoning and asking the Manageress if she could help the reply was “I am busy and if I get time I will do what I can” On suggesting she phone the volunteers who worked on the day the reply “Well there are 10 to phone and that’s a lot to do” and there is a lot of shoplifting that goes on here. Do these people realise that when donating one expects that goods in the volunteers care are respected and that the charity receives the benefit of the donation. I found the attitude appalling and on visiting the store today and seeing the volunteers in action I have to say that even as volunteers they are the unworthy and incapable of doing the job and should stay at home and knit. My jacket with the phone in the pocket was sold and the purchaser on finding the phone made contact to a number and tomorrow is kindly returning both items.
They have a good range of stock and I’ve always found them to be helpful. They answered the phone promptly and gave me a direct answer when I asked about an item.
Colleen, can you really off-load responsibility to others for leaving your jacket and phone behind in a change room? Shame to blame volunteers for your sloppiness.
I had occasion to use the hospice shop and whilst dropping in some stuff I noticed a bed which I bought. They could not have been more helpful and delivered the bed 20 minutes after I bought it.
Maybe Margaret might consider doing some volunteering at the shop to really appreciate what the job entails
The manager is so Rude. I take my kids in with me to shop, just like every other place. She follows my kids around snapping at every little thing, even if they are just pointing at things, oh noo you mustn’t touch that! My daughter was cuddling a 2nd hand teddy and she tells my daughter off! Like come on lady, kids are kids, thats my job to do. I honestly think she is racist, trying to get me to leave the shop. I have not once stolen. I would go back and shop as long as that big bird ain’t there. Its a second hand shop for goodness sake not antique shop lol
By far the best hospice store and staff. Clean and tidy, staff are helpful and friendly, turnover of clothing is good, different clothes every time I shop. I go about once every fortnight. I used to go to Te Awamutu store and the same clothes are there all season. . I even saw $45 item on label rack. Yep, and its been there all winter.
Best opshop around, great lay out, friendly staff, well priced.
