Oh my goodness. I’ve never seen such huge warehouse full of clothing! It was heaven. And cheap prices $3 or when we visited $3 for two children’s clothing. There was bins and bins of hats, scarves, togs etc. There is also another part for more designer brands with higher prices. Excellent buying here, even with the pricer things.

Can hardly be beaten for second hand clothing! Huge range, also includes manchester and soft furnishings. Shop could do with an upgrade in it’s appearance, it comes across as quite slummy and depressing on a bad day. Plenty of parking, and on the #3 bus route.
Its such a shame this massive OPshop is run by what I can only describe as second hand thugs. For years I have visited this store and put up with hat has to be the worst customer service in Christchurch, one woman in particular is clearly very bitter and hates her job, she usually eyerolls, sighs when you ask for a bag, has never heard of manners etc. This has become a funny part of a trip to Ferrymead as it really is ridiculous that anyone behaves so sour let alone in a customer service roll. I have drawn the line now as this same woman came and pulled the curtain of my changing wide open to scream at me I had too many items!! I was mortified there were people everywhere, people in line etc not only was it insinuated I was THEIVING I had no pants on! i have witnessed this same woman yell and accuse many people of all sorts. she is unstable at this point and I’m looking into charges. note the insane “name and shame” wall which is just an outlet for staffs bitter feelings toward customers, after this interaction I am sure almost none of them are guilty. Really sad for the few nice staff that do work there.
After reading this post above regarding one particular woman who works at Toffs Ferrymead I immediately knew who the above customer was referring to. I would also describe her as intimidating in her attitude, demeanor, body language, facial expressions and a general rude disrespectful way she approaches customers accusing them of things imagined in her mind about random things e.g .pushing a garment off a hanger etc. I am a pensioner who has worked in customer service roles over my life and have to say that a customer should never be intimidated and treated in this way and that this is the only time I have experienced this treatment in a retail situation! This woman is clearly presenting as a bitter and sad human being and obviously does not like her job or working happily to serve customers who in actual fact pay her wages. I have got to the stage where I am questioning whether I want to continue shopping here. Most of the other staff are courteous, however this one woman puts Toffs service to shame!
