Has to be my favorite opp shop in Napier. Service & prices are great.
The people in this shop are so friendly & helpful I always walk away feeling so happy. I have bought some fantastic bargains for hosting various parties (Glasses, tea cups etc). I couldn’t believe when each item was wrapped up individually & packed into a box for us to take home. Thank you so much for the great bargains & amazing customer service!!!
17/11/17 I usually come to this store often and customer service is normally good other than the funny looks I get when entering the store most times. Today I was in the Napier St Vinnie’s shop browsing started off good asking one out of the 3 assistant’s to put some stuff aside for me, a few minutes later a lady walks in with sleeve tattoos on her arms then leaves a couple minutes later… I hear the shops assistant’s joking about having tattoo’s and their personal opinion’s, soon enough I hear them running down the customer with the sleeve tattoos on her arms that left the store, using the comments like “people like them will never get a job in a bank etc and “I think tattoos look awful” As I have tattoos personally as a customer, I felt that these 3 shop assistant’s were very rude and very disrespectful and discriminatory. I approached the front desk paid for my things & told her I was really uncomfortable about shopping here from now & what they were doing was wrong and that I had to leave the store immediately. The assistant She just looked at me and no apology was said. Very unhappy customer & disappointing customer service.
I gave always found this op shop a pleasant place to browse in and the prices are realistic. Bearing in mind the shop assistants are unpaid volunteers I think Ambers comments were a bit harsh. The funny looks she claims to get made her appear a tad judgemental as well. Research probably backs up the opinion of the two women that tattoos limit employment opportunities but that is bound to be an unpalatable idea for the tattoo enthusiast. They were simply expressing an opinion and whether it is pc or not is up for debate. I would rather applaud them for their generosity in donating their time so that people can afford to shop at the op shop
Good pricing – realistic. Well organised and spacious shop. Volunteer staff pleasant and helpful
